Fly, fly, fly

Hello everyone, the past week we have been exploring thrust and what it is. What is thrust you may ask? Well thrust is a force were to every action there is a equal and opposite reaction. To explain this we made a catapult plane. Now how do you make one for yourself? I will explain.

1. Take a A4 piece of photocopy paper and create a paper plane.
2. Find a hole punch and punch a hole in the plane
3. Loop a elastic band through the hole. If you do not have a elastic band a hair tie will do.
4. Take a pencil {your finger will do}pull the plane back, let go. Whoosh. Of it goes.

  1. Awesome work this week Eilidh! You have understood this work well! Yes the wind can effect the way the plane flies and how you hold it! So many things to take into account! Your graph looks the way I would expect roughly going steadily upwards. Well done this week! 👑

  3. Hi Eilidh, I enjoyed reading your intro to your project about planes... it sounded just like when you speak which was lovely!
I wondered what you thought the difference would be if you used paper next time instead of card?
How's your reading going? I hope you have found some fun online reading if you have run out of paper books...

  4. Well Eilidh girl, I can tell you've really enjoyed making these planes, they are everywhere at home, lol. Have you read any books about flight, either fiction or non-fiction?
