Anzac Day

Hello everyone, the other day was anzac day. Our bubble did several things to remember them.

  1. My sisters made lots of muffin case poppies and stuck them in the window.
  2. Mum printed out some people standing and saluting.
  3. Me and Zara made Anzac biscuits all by ourselves
  4. I put my St John uniform on and went outside at 6:00
That is four things I did for Anzac day. I hope you went outside to.

Natural Art

Last week the art challenge was to ...create a natural piece of art. I decided to create a mandala. It is a circle of natural materials.

My materials were pinecones, palm tree fibre, dry silver ferns and pebbles. I carefully arranged the materials in a circle.

I then took the pebbles and scattered them over the mandala. The palm tree fibre was laid around it.I placed a leaf in the center and, tada. There you have a piece of natural art

Fly, fly, fly

Hello everyone, the past week we have been exploring thrust and what it is. What is thrust you may ask? Well thrust is a force were to every action there is a equal and opposite reaction. To explain this we made a catapult plane. Now how do you make one for yourself? I will explain.

1. Take a A4 piece of photocopy paper and create a paper plane.
2. Find a hole punch and punch a hole in the plane
3. Loop a elastic band through the hole. If you do not have a elastic band a hair tie will do.
4. Take a pencil {your finger will do}pull the plane back, let go. Whoosh. Of it goes.

Making a Pie

Hello everybody, guess what I made today? Did you guess? It's a pie! What was in the pie? We'll get on to that now.

The pie was called kitchen sink pie. It gets its name from a soup my mum made, which has everything in it but the kitchen sink. In my pie there was sausage meat. It was squeezed out of the sausage skins. Next was eggs, then bacon, parsley, potato, frozen peas and corn and white and orange kumara. I had to roll out two pastry sheets for the bottom and the top.

On the top of the pie I put my name that I cut out with left over pastry. It tasted really good! Do you like pie?

A day in the life of an S.E.S worker

Hi my name is Eilidh and I work at the S.E.S .It stands for Safe Evacuation Service. My division is called Billet Recruitment Service. Otherwise known as B.R.S. My job is to interview billets, advertise, send out letters and fill out forms. I really enjoy my job.

Dear Diary,
Today at work we had a letter from Bristol saying that it had been bombed. We now have 1300 children to evacuate.I know that's a lot isn't?  I started to make a poster asking people to host the children. The others wrote interview questions.

Today there was two air-raids. Enclosed is a photograph of me in my gas mask.It is very inportant that you do not lose it. It protects you from the poisonous gas that the Germans drop.It also has a wooden box
During the staff meetings I take the minutes a lot. It is really fun. I have to write down everything said, then summarize it on the slide.
